Whether you're a Child and Youth Worker or a Clinical Therapist, working for wm+a is a rewarding experience. wm+a has worked with children and adults with some of the most challenging behaviours, across the GTA, since 1998. Our philosophy is to be accountable and responsive, ensuring that our clients and Associates alike have a positive experience with wm+a.

High level skills and continued growth have always set wm+a Associates apart from the rest. wm+a offer regular workshops to Associates and the wider community, on Autism, ABA and other relevant topics that can enhance both the skills of our Associates and the service we are able to provide to our clients.

We currently have more than 240 associates and staff working in the community for wm+a. Part time, full time, on long or short-term assignments; working in schools, hospitals, programs or at home, all our associates are committed to improving quality of life for individuals. We are able to offer this flexibility to our Associates with strong and stable relationships on a contract basis, either as an Incorporated business entity, or as a Sole Proprietor. For more information about being an Associate and your relationship options with us, or if you already want to be a part of our associate team and are dedicated to helping individuals learn and grow, see our careers page or call 416 367 5968 and ask to speak to our Recruitment Department.

Associate Benefits

All our Associates are now eligible to apply to the federal government for EI Benefits.

Even though wm+a Associates maintain their independent status and all of the benefits of being an independent entity, wm+a contributes the company portion of EI and CPP for all Associates, except those who have their own business and have an Incorporated status.

What does this mean?

This means that all Associates are eligible to apply to the federal government for maternity, parental, sickness and compassionate care benefits, and of course regular EI benefits. Contributions to the Canada Pension Plan provide Associates with a stable pension to build on for retirement, and allow Associates and their dependents to apply for basic financial protection should they become disabled or die.

  • Maternity Benefits: Where granted, payable by the federal government to the birth mother or surrogate mother for a maximum of 15 weeks.
  • Parental Benefits: Where granted, payable by the federal government either to the biological or adoptive parents while they are caring for a newborn or an adopted child, up to a maximum of 35 weeks.
  • Sickness Benefits: Where granted, payable by the federal government for up to 15 weeks to a person who is unable to work because of sickness, injury or quarantine.
  • Compassionate Care: Where granted, payable by the federal government to a person who has to be away from work temporarily to provide care or support to a family member who is gravely ill with a significant risk of death.
